Yoon Tax & Administrative Office — effective from the date of publication

This Privacy Policy has been established to protect the personal information of our clients in relation to the services provided by Yoon Tax & Administrative OfficeOffice (hereinafter referred to as "the Office") and to safeguard the rights and interests of our clients in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. of the Republic of Korea.

1. Personal Information We Collect

What we receive differs before and after an engagement begins. Both are set out below.

a. At the enquiry stage

  • Items: name, contact number, company name, industry, email address, and the content of your enquiry.
  • How we receive it: the enquiry form on this site, telephone, and email.

The enquiry form on this site is operated through Google Forms, so a submission passes through Google LLC before it reaches us. If you would rather not use it, telephone and email reach the same place.

b. After engagement — information needed to act as your tax agent

Collected under a separate written consent form signed at contract stage.

  • Purpose: matters relating to tax filing.
  • Identifying information: name, resident registration number, address, telephone and mobile numbers, email address, and the like.
  • Family details: family relationship, marital status, name, age, income, place of residence, whether living together, and the like.
  • Other: income from a previous employer and other income-related information of you and your family, home ownership, and the like.

Sensitive information and unique identifying information (such as the resident registration number) are processed only under a separate consent, as required by Articles 23 and 24 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

c. If you set up direct debit (Hyosung CMS)

  • Purpose: collecting fees by Hyosung CMS direct debit.
  • Items: name, date of birth, contact number, payer and card issuer name, account number, card number and expiry, telephone numbers — and, for telephone-based payment only, the resident registration number.

2. Purpose of Collection and Use

The Office collects and uses personal information for the following purposes:

  • Identifying and contacting you in order to provide tax invoice issuance, bookkeeping and tax advisory services.
  • Responding to enquiries and delivering notices arising from the engagement.
  • Carrying out tax filings and other work performed as your tax agent.
  • Guidance on administrative services for foreign-invested companies and the like.

3. Provision to Third Parties

The Office does not provide your personal information to third parties except as set out below. Each of these is covered by the written consent taken at contract stage.

a. The National Tax Service (tax filing)

  • Recipient: National Tax Service.
  • Purpose: tax filing.
  • Items: identifying information (name, resident registration number, address, gender, occupation, telephone and mobile numbers, email address, and the like), family details, income-related information.
  • Retention: from the date of consent until five years after the engagement ends.

b. Only if you set up direct debit (Hyosung CMS)

  • Recipients: Hyosung FMS Co., Ltd., financial institutions, telecommunications carriers, card issuers and payment gateways (the current list is published at www.efnc.co.kr under "Partners").
  • Purpose: providing the direct debit service and notifying you that consent was given.
  • Retention: from the date of consent until the direct debit ends.

Separately, information may be provided where required by law, or under the procedures and methods prescribed by law for the purposes of an investigation.

4. Retention Period

In principle personal information is destroyed without delay once the purpose of its collection has been achieved. Where retention is required by law, it is kept as follows.

  • Enquiry records: one year after the enquiry closes.
  • Client information held for tax agency work: five years after the engagement ends, as required by law.
  • Direct debit information: until the direct debit ends.

5. Procedures and Methods of Destruction

Procedure: Once the purpose is met, the information is transferred to a separate database (or a separate filing cabinet for paper documents) and stored for a certain period according to internal policies and legal requirements before being destroyed.

Method: Personal information in electronic file format is deleted using technical methods that prevent the recovery of records. Information printed on paper is shredded or incinerated.

6. Your Rights

You may at any time ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, and you may withdraw your consent to its collection. You may also refuse consent to the provision described in section 3 — in that case, however, the related tax work cannot be carried out, or the direct debit service cannot be used.
